CHAMBER FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About the Chamber

What role does the Chamber play in tourism?
The Chamber and the Convention and Visitors Bureau work hand in hand—the CVB promoting and marketing Delta County as a tourism destination and convention site, and the Chamber supporting the businesses involved with the tourism trade.

Are the building trades a part of the Chamber?
Membership in the Delta County Builders Exchange is open to Chamber members. A weekly newsletter listing projects to bid on, plans available for inspection or check out and discounts on large copies are benefits of BX membership.

What does the Chamber do to attract jobs?
The Chamber supports the Delta County Economic Development Alliance which is the single source of contact for information on business attraction, retention and expansion in the county. The EDA office is located at the Chamber.

How are newcomers welcomed?
The Economic Development Alliance has established a Newcomers Club with monthly get-togethers—some with children, some without, some at lunch, some evening and others in conjunction with community events. Call the Chamber for a current calendar.

What else does the Chamber do for me?
Behind the scenes the Chamber represents all Delta County business by participation on committees, panels and community task forces. The Chamber is regularly asked to support grant applications and other initiatives that benefit Delta County residents and businesses. The Delta County Area Chamber of Commerce advocates for its members by providing input on local, state and national issues which impact business.
