Bay Film Series – Licorice Pizza
April 7 @ 7:00 pm
After a two-year hiatus, the Bay Film Series will again return to the Besse Theatre at Bay College. For over 25 years, the Bay Film Series has celebrated the art of film-making, showing the best in local, international, documentary, and independent cinema.
Continuing its long-standing tradition, The Race to the Oscars is on! “We are thrilled to be back,” says Film Series coordinator Nanci Love. “We show the ‘art house’ movies, ones that are well reviewed but don’t often make it to smaller cities.”
On Thursday, April 7th, another Best Picture nominated film, LICORICE PIZZA will be shown. Eight-time Oscar nominee Paul Thomas Anderson is also nominated for Best Director and Best Screenplay. Vanity Fair says, “Yet where the film really sings—and where I think you’ll find its true Oscar potential—is in how heartfelt it is. This is a very funny comedy that doubles as the sweetest movie he’s ever made.”
All Film Series movies are shown in Bay College’s Besse Center Theater at 7 p.m. EST in Escanaba. Tickets for the public are $5 and Bay students are $2*. Tickets are available at the Box Office on Main Campus or can be purchased online. Visit www.baycollege.tix.edu or call 906-217-4045 to purchase tickets and for more information. *Students: please present your Bay ID at the box office to purchase tickets.
At printing, Bay College is not requiring masks, but those coming to the films are recommended to check the Bay College website to see if COVID-19 policies have changed.
