Bay Offers 24-Hour New Miner Virtual Training

Bay College Training and Development will be offering a 24-Hour New Miner Training in partnership with the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and Michigan Technological University. The three-day “New Miner” training covers all aspects of the initial training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48 & 46. The objective is to train new and inexperienced miners on safety and health hazards, employee rights and responsibilities, and job-related safety procedures. This training satisfies the MSHA class room requirement; however, companies training under Part 46 must have an approved training plan.The MSHA 24-Hour New Miner training will be offered on March 30, 31, and April 1, 2021, from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. All participants must have an email address, computer with a camera/microphone and sufficient internet to stream videos. Cost of the 24-Hour New Miner training is $189.
