June 22 @ 8:00 am - June 23 @ 4:30 pm

Northern Initiatives, Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC), and Bay College are partnering to offer in-person training this June at the West Campus located in Iron Mountain, MI.  The first training, “Get More Done” will take place on Tuesday, June 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. CT. Participants will learn how to use David Allen’s model of task management and productivity outlined in his book, Getting Things DoneThe Art of Stress-Free Productivity.  In this workshop, students will review his core principles and get started on how to implement them in their personal and professional lives.  The price for this half day training is $198 per person.

The second training will take place on Wednesday, June 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT.  Participants will gain the tools to make meetings more productive, reduce meeting time, improve task accomplishment, and increase results.  In an interactive, fast-paced format, participants will learn how to build an effective agenda, use a variety of tools to accomplish objectives, and deal with difficult meeting behaviors like getting off track or dominating.  Participants will also learn techniques to manage conflict and build consensus.  The price for this full day training is $395.

Karen Goike of MMTC will lead both workshops.  Goike is MMTC’s Senior Business Advisor with over 25 years of experience in project management and business analysis, who is a certified project management professional and a certified LEAN Office Champion.  For more information and to register, visit the Bay College Training and Development web page at mytraining.baycollege.edu.  A minimum of six people must be met for both workshops by June 18 in order to move forward with the training.  Any questions can be directed to Gina Wollner via email at gina.wollner@baycollege.edu or by phone at 906-302-3012.
